South Carolina

Wow, I haven't been here in a long time. Seems life keeps us quite busy at times. So I'm going to tell you about my trip to South Carolina. My best friends daughter was making her First Holy Communion and there were plans for lots of parties etc. So of course If I get to go diving nothing else matters to me. I spent the entire 15 days doing just what I Love...diving, hanging around with people you Love and making new memories. I even went to a Luau at the family's local church and had a blast !

quite busy these days. This pic was taken on January6th, 2008 and I think it's official, I lost all my holiday tan :-( well, I guess that means....yes ....I'm going to Florida (diving of course) March 30th, hey, a girl needs to maintain her tan somehow!! So I'm back....Heres a pic of my friend Iggy and me. Iggy is a hard core Jersey wreck diver, he and his lovely wife Connie joined me for the second week of my trip. Theres going to be a load of pics going up in the next 2 weeks.

The "Sherman"

These are just a few of the many pictures I have of the wreck. The ribs are quite impressive for such an old wreck, and theres alot to see, vis was great till the newbies showed up.

actually write something...... This photo is obviously the mast of the "Sherman" Which was a 200' blocade runner. This ship sunk in 1874, and this post war wreck lies in 52' of water 6 miles from Little River Inlet on the North /South Carolina border. For those willing to hunt, you can still find US belt buckles, buttons, bottles and fossils.

Well my friends I am just about ready to leave for the airport, I will be in Myrtle Beach before 9:pm. First thing tomorrow morning, I am off to the dive shop to confirm my dive plans for Saturday and Sunday. I plan to dive the wreck of the Sherman on Saturday, and not sure what Sundays dives are going to be. I'm so excited.....water temperature 84 degrees....warmer that Bonaire water which was 82 degrees.

Morgan will be glad to know that I have been diving with a friend who is cavern and cave certified and he has been teaching me. The amount of information is crazy, but my skills are almost perfect !!! I have lots more to learn.

OK , so we all know how much fun diving is, but wait , you can't imaging it's 10X's more fun with a sea-doo sea scooter. Those rock. It's amazing how much area you can cover in a short period of time with the sea doo. My new "favorite buddy" owns 2 of these scooters, over 3 miles an hour, 2 hour battery life. Cost of season pass for the quarry, $140.00, price of 2 sea doo scooters, $1200.00, ....the amount of fun you have diving there with the scooters......PRICELESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DUI Weekend

Dutch Spring for DUI Dog Rally

This coming weekend should be quite exciting for me, as DUI has it's annual Dog Rally and Demo Days at DutchSprings. This weekend will include the following... For those who have been curious about diving dry, you will have an opportunity to try a DUI dry suit (test dive) There will also be digital photo/video seminars and demos, educational seminars and presentations. Also.... a barbecue, and raffle. And most important of all we will be getting in a few dives. So I am going to be meeting some friends in PA for the Dog Rally.....woof!!!!

This pic was last season at Dutch. Ahhhh I can't wait to get back in the water, it is truly one of my passions, just can't imaging life without diving.

My Dogs !!!!

This is Jack on the left and Cassie on the right. Jack is a 105 lb Black lab and Cassie is a 75lb Black lab/pitt mix. These dogs are bi-lingual, believe it or not. I love my babies , not only are they great companions, but come on, look at those faces.

How Cool is This !!!

I am sure that anyone who knows diving, knows "The Deepsea Detectives" from tv. I had the pleasure of speaking with both John and Richie at the divers convention. If I knew I was going to have a photo op, I would have dressed better, but none the less, great pic.

More Snow...............

OK so it's official, I hate the snow. I seriously need to move to a warmer climate. Besides the fact that the cold weather screws up my diving schedule, it's just miserable !! Who wants to spend 2 hours clearing snow???? It was fun when we could just build igloos, and have snowball fights.

On the brighter side of things the divers convention is right around the corner. Anyone who is interested can check it out at http://www.beneaththesea.com . This is certainly a fantastic weekend, I'm looking forward to it.

2007, Lets hope for a great year !

I do hope everyone has been enjoying the New Year, I have !!! I am planning to return to Bonaire this coming November 24th , and stay there for 2 weeks this time. Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy !!!! ( and I do mean that )

I have been keeping quite busy since the start of the new year as well. Next month will be the divers convention www.beneaththesea.org which is held at the Meadowlands convention center each year. I will be on staff again, and can't wait.

Then in April I will be assisting the instructor in the pool with the newbies, and students. That is always fun too, especially when I am asked to demonstrate the "giant stride" , or "back roll" then shortly after classes start, we will be diving in frigid water !!!!

I do hope you all enjoyed this brief update, I am quite busy and must attend to my tasks.
